About Me
After graduating from Monash several decades ago, I immediately began working as a class ESL teacher at a local community house. I taught adults from a huge variety of countries and different English levels.
Over the years I have continued to work in a wide range of community roles with different sectors of our multicultural communities. I lived in Malaysia for eight years and know what it’s like to learn and have to use a new language on a daily basis. In addition to post-graduate qualifications in English as a Second Language teaching, I have degrees in Psychology and Sociology which support my work helping understand and teach people who are facing major life and work changes.
I aim to make my classes as relevant as possible to what you are doing in life and feel privileged to help you try to achieve your goals and dreams. My counselling and language teaching have always focused around assisting people to achieve more in life. I have a strong background in supporting
people experiencing career barriers and progression achievement in the workplace, professional and social confidence and communication expertise.

Why I Teach
I was at, a young age, someone fascinated by other cultures and languages. I never changed. I have almost always worked, and often simultaneously volunteered, in different roles that supported people making new lives in Australia.
The exception was when I lived overseas for eight years as an adult in Asia, so I understand what it’s like to need to learn a new language. I combine my background in both Counselling and English teaching to help you gain the skills and confidence you need to achieve your goals.
